Established in 1969, the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases is the only specialized department for cardiovascular diseases in Guang'anmen Hospital. It is a national construction unit of key discipline and key specialty, and a master and doctor training unit. The department has general outpatient clinics, special disease clinics and VIP clinics，and 102 beds, including CCU, general ward, cardiac rehabilitation ward and research ward.

There are currently more than 60 physicians and nurses in the department, including national TCM masters, famous senior TCM doctors, Qihuang scholars, health experts for national leadership, national famous TCM succession tutors, chief researcher of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, national outstanding clinical talents, Beijing outstanding TCM talents, Beijing science and technology new star and science and technology star of China Association of Chinese Medicine.

We diagnose and treat various cardiovascular diseases with a combination of TCM and Western medicine, especially using TCM for patients with coronary heart disease, acute myocardial infarction, angina pectoris after intervention, patients cannot be treat with a stent or bypass, heart failure after myocardial infarction, coronary artery critical lesions, various arrhythmia, arrhythmia after radiofrequency ablation, dilated cardiomyopathy, heart failure, hypertension and blood pressure instability, hypertensive complications, arterial thrombotic diseases, etc., and obtaining remarkable effects. Some patented herbal medicines, powders and capsules for specific diseases have been developed and used clinically. We can also perform coronary angiography and stent implantation, arrhythmia radiofrequency ablation, pacemaker implantation, etc., and undertake various cardiac intensive care and rescue work as well.

We have obtained numerous scientific research achievements and successively won 30 national, provincial and ministerial awards including the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award.

We have successively won honorary titles such as "National Worker Pioneer", "Youth Civilization" of National Health Commission of China, etc. All of the staff in our department always provide satisfactory services to patients with superb medical skills, noble medical ethics and enthusiasm.
