The Department of Dermatology, one of the earliest TCM dermatology departments in China, is a construction unit of national key discipline and clinical key specialty, a regional TCM (specialty) diagnosis and treatment center, has 3 famous national TCM master inheritance studios and is the earliest authorized unit for doctors and masters of TCM dermatology in China.

The department has many nationally renowned experts including Zhu Renkang, Zhang Zuozhou, Zhuang Guokang, Xu Xian, Li Bojian, Liu Wali, and has a total of 48 staff members.

The department is composed of 1 ward, outpatient clinic and TCM Cosmetology and Laser Therapy Center. At present, there are special clinical services for following diseases: psoriasis, eczema, acne, herpes zoster, hair loss, children's skin diseases, chloasma, facial dermatitis, etc.

Carrying forward the traditional advantages of TCM, we have developed nearly 30 kinds of herbal preparations(be applied in the hospial) and more than 10 kinds of hospital agreement prescriptions, and developed more than 10 special TCM therapies such as herbal facial mask treatment, herbal wet compress therapy, intradermal needle therapy, etc.

Modern medical diagnosis and treatments have been also actively used, such as dermoscopy diagnosis, fungal examination, patch test, Wood's lamp, skin pathological biopsy, blister debridement, red and blue light treatment, cryotherapy, photodynamic therapy, skin surgery and etc.

Over the years, we have conducted nearly 60 research projects on skin diseases with good therapeutic effects by TCM, including 9 national natural fund projects. 9 projects have won scientific research awards. We have developed Keyin Pill, the first patent herbal medicine for psoriasis in China, which was awarded the Grade A Achievement Award of the Ministry of Health. Nearly 40 monographs on TCM dermatology have been published, and over 80 core journal and SCI papers have been published within 5 years.
